Gamifying the competition between Gamification Gurus
About 3 months ago, I shared how I got into the Top 40 Gamification Gurus on Leaderboarded, but at that time I was last place at 40. They have published their new results, and it is a pleasant surprise to see me ranked number 8 after a few months.
Technically I should have been ranked higher it seems, as there’s a bug somewhere between Twitter and Leaderboarded that does not factor in some of tweets on Twitter (and you guys all know I use Twitter quite a bit). The founder Toby Beresford was kind enough to address that and said, “Apologies to [Yu-kai Chou] who it seems fell foul of some arbitrary twitter garden hose sharding this month. It meant I didn’t pick up his tweets yet I did pick up his retweets. We’re upgrading to a full firehose soon which should put a stop to this problem but it’s not plugged in yet.”
But I’m just grateful I’m on the list to begin with. Hopefully this means later on when this bug is gone, I will be able to ascend into a higher realm of guru-ship.
And of course, with this Leaderboard on Gamification Gurus, the game is on. I MUST become the Guru-est Guru of all Gamification Gurus!!
